Between April 25 and 26, UTE will inaugurate electrical services for 820 families in Salto and 70 in Artigas. The works are part of the Social Inclusion Plan and the company’s commitment to reach all parts of the country with safe electrification, keeping residents within the system on a regular basis, the head of the entity told the Presidential Communication. This Monday the 25th, 800 electrical services were inaugurated in the La Esperanza-Patulé neighborhood of Salto, in the presence of the UTE board, headed by its president, Silvia Emaldi.
The hierarch stressed that through the inclusion program the objective is to bring the service with the corresponding quality and safety conditions to the entire population. This implies the adequacy of the networks and the connection of the electricity meter at no cost to the user, the delivery of security elements for the installation or the adequacy inside the home.
Personalized advice is also provided, in order to maintain a consumption according to your payment possibilities. This includes the concretion of collective workshops on the safe and efficient use of electrical energy and the delivery of educational material.
Rural electrification in Colonia Las Flores, Salto
These works are scheduled for Tuesday the 26th, in addition to the UTE board, authorities from the Planning and Budget Office, the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries and the Salto Grande Joint Technical Commission are expected to attend.
The initiative will serve 20 families in the neighborhood located at kilometer 525,600 of Route 3. The works included the laying of 45.6 kilometers of medium voltage network and the installation of 20 substations, with a total cost of approximately of 14,600,000 pesos.
Emaldi recalled that, only in the department of Salto, there are 7,200 families who accessed the Social Bonus, with discounts of between 80 and 90% on their rate. Throughout the country, this benefit represents 120,000 clients included in the Equity Plan or beneficiaries of the Uruguay Social Mides card, old age assistance or the UTE inclusion plans.
Electric service in the Olympic neighborhood of the city of Artigas
On Tuesday the 26th, the electricity service will also be inaugurated for 70 families in the Olympic neighborhood of the city of Artigas, works that are also part of the UTE Social Inclusion Plan.
145 people live in this neighborhood, of which 55 are under 18 years of age. The cost of the works amounts to 3,300,000 pesos, including the laying of electrical networks, measuring instruments and interior installations.
In all cases, the UTE board decided to support the neighborhood commissions that manage picnic areas by donating an efficient refrigerator, concluded the hierarch.
