Christmas tree producers from San Miguel Mimiapan and Santiago Tecojotillos in Xonacatlán, State of Mexico, began cutting and selling trees.
With a variety of species such as oyamel, ayacahuite and pseudotsuga, they have 50 thousand trees ready for cutting and marketing. The price of the trees ranges from 300 pesos to 1,800 pesos.
The 78 producers generate around 1,000 jobs in the community that is also seeking an economic reactivation after being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The plantations have more than 50,000 trees ready for cutting and marketing, expecting an economic benefit of more than 30 million pesos.
Christmas Tree Forest
This place is located in the municipality of Amecameca, State of Mexico, and is one of a kind. In its more than 400 hectares there is no deforestation: a new tree is born from the same tree that is cut, as is the case with the shoots of rose bushes.
This forest , where there are species of white cedar and oak, employs more than a hundred people, who are in charge of keeping it in optimal conditions.
The place is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., so that families come to choose the Christmas tree and can even cut it to take it home. It is recommended to go by car.
The cost varies according to size, but the average is 980 pesos, in addition this place offers its clients one for six people for Hacienda Panoaya, which is located right in front of the Forest.
Adjco Christmas Trees
This forest is located on the Picacho-Ajusco highway, at kilometer 12.5, San Miguel Ajusco, Tlalpan mayor’s office, inside the La Poza del Indio Didactic Ranch.
On the official Facebook page , it is detailed that “the sale is direct to the public”, where after choosing the tree and cutting it, it is packed, tied and can be carried.
Prices depend on the tree species and size, and the hours are from 08:30 to 17:30.
