The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS), included in its agenda this Wednesday, March 27, addressing the item “The National Office of the General Secretariat of the OAS in Nicaragua”, at the request of the Secretary General of the organization, Luis Almagro.

The regular session of the OAS is scheduled to begin at 8 in the morning, Managua time, and 10 in the morning, Washington DC time. The issue of Nicaragua occupies item number six on the agenda shared by the Permanent Council.

This April 26, the secretary general of the OAS, Luis Almagro, denounced before the Permanent Council the closure and illegal occupation of its offices in Managua and the expulsion of its officials from the Central American country. He pointed out that this situation “had never occurred even in times of the worst dictatorships in the region.”

“This had never happened, not even in times of the worst dictatorships in the region, including those that Nicaragua had experienced. We are facing the violation of the most elementary rules that regulate relations between States and international organizations, opening a precedent that the region had not known until now, “he added.

of public utility

In her speech this Wednesday, the designated vice president, Rosario Murillo, announced the confiscation under the “law” of her regime of the building where the OAS worked in Managua, which had been taken over by Ortega officials since April 24.

“The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic of Nicaragua informs that the real estate that was occupied by the office of the deplorable OAS, despicable OAS, has been declared a public utility and will pass to the State of Nicaragua, who through the (…) Institute of Culture he is going to develop the museum of infamy,” Murillo said.

He added that the agreement will enter into force when it is published in the official newspaper La Gaceta. “This is all good news; it is to expel and confirm the expulsion and ratification of the OAS as an infamous and despicable ministry of colony,” Murillo ranted.
