SANTO DOMINGO.- The Attorney General’s Office incinerated more than 2,000 kilograms of drugs, the largest amount of cocaine used in actions against drug trafficking in Peravia province.
The National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) established in a report that a total of 2,128,257 were incinerated last Thursday, representing 99.47%, which brings the destroyed narcotics to 14,126,809 kilograms this year until April 21 in the framework of the work carried out to confront this criminal activity.
The narcotics were seized in operations carried out by agents of the National Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry. In addition to Peravia, the work was carried out in the National District, Santo Domingo and other locations.

Along with cocaine, a total of 9,258 kilograms of marijuana, with 0.44%, and 1,621 kilograms of phendimetrazine, equivalent to 0.08%, were also destroyed. Also 344 grams of crack, with 0.0162%; methamphetamine 43 grams, for 0.0020%, and ecstasy 26 grams, for 0.0012%.
The burning also included 1,380,075 kilograms of substances that after the analysis carried out by the Inacif were negative for drugs.
The narcotics were incinerated during an act that took place at the facilities of the Army of the Dominican Republic, in the Pedro Brand municipality, with the participation of representatives of the different organs of the system in charge of combating drug trafficking.
