Workers of the construction sector and related areas, such as plumbers, electricians and painters, await the application of the increase in the cost of labor for these trades as announced by the Government in recent days. The working day will increase from 158 to 474 pesos per day.

unskilled worker | 659.00 | 797.39 | 817.16 | 158.16 |
skilled worker | 721.00 | 872.41 | 894.04 | 173.04 |
A master builder and/or each person in charge of the different construction areas will be paid 2,392 pesos per day and as of October they will earn 2,451 pesos. When comparing the figures for 2018 with the current ones, the net increase per day will be 474 pesos, according to the rate with the new amounts published yesterday by the Ministry of Labor in a resolution.
While a construction assistant, referring to the person who, knowing the tools and their proper use, dedicates himself to helping the master builder, will earn 1,025 pesos from May and later, in October, 1,050 pesos. This figure exceeds with 203 pesos what he was paid in 2018.
The dynamics of the work in this sector varies according to the specialty, for example: if you need to build a concrete wall, the mason with two assistants will charge you, starting in October, the placement of each block at 29 pesos, with a of 125 per day. Likewise, you can quote the total amount for adjustment calculating per square meter (Mtwo) each space.
In the case of independent professionals who do not use gray materials (cement and block, among others), they will be able to calculate the value of their work based on the parameters indicated in the resolution of the Ministry of Labor number CNS-05-2022, where They establish a fixed rate for the installation of air conditioners, toilets and the electrical system, among other tasks that are charged per unit.
In that sense, the painters will go from receiving 33 pesos for applying the first layer of acrylic paint to each Mtwo painted to charge 40 pesos, an amount that can vary depending on the type of material with which the work is done and the type of surface.
The document also establishes that the salary of citizens who are earning a higher “salary” for the activity they carry out will not be affected or reduced.
