On the third day of the agenda in the United Arab Emirates, president Jair Bolsonaro participated today (15) in the Invest in Brazil Forum, in Dubai. The event is organized by the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
“We are very close. Brazil has more than 5 million Arabs. If we are going to count the descendants, we reach around 30 million”, he said, during the opening of the event. “More than just good partners, we are brothers”, he added.
In addition to Bolsonaro, ministers Paulo Guedes (Economy), Tarcísio de Freitas (Infrastructure), Tereza Cristina (Agriculture), Bento Albuquerque (Mines and Energy), Augusto Heleno (Institutional Security Office), Carlos França (Foreign Affairs), took part. Braga Netto (Defense) and Gilson Machado (Tourism).
“We are sure that this passage will make them invest even more,” concluded the president, referring to local authorities and Arab investors, who also participated in the forum. “I hope to return soon announcing more interactions between us.”
Expo 2020
Bolsonaro is still participating today (15th) in Brazil Day at Expo 2020. The ceremony, scheduled for the afternoon in Dubai, coincides with the anniversary of the proclamation of the Brazilian Republic.
The program includes activities in the Al Wasl square, the main point of the exhibition, in addition to Bolsonaro’s visit to the Brazil Pavilion, one of the busiest and with the largest number of visitors.
Delayed by a year because of the new coronavirus, Expo 2020 is regarded as the biggest international event open to the public since the beginning of the pandemic.
Abu Dhabi
After the forum, Bolsonaro should head to Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates and neighboring Dubai, where he will participate in an audience with Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
