The Dominican Republic will be the venue for the meeting of the World Cruise Federation in September, reported this Monday the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, in Miami.
“We have received this recognition for how thriving we have been in the cruise sector, and last month we only received one hundred thousand cruise passengers,” said Collado.
The minister gave the information after concluding the second marketing meeting of the public-private committee, which determines the way in which the promotion of the country abroad is invested.
Members of the committee are National Association of Hotels and Restaurants of the country, the Port Authority and the Civil Aviation Institutein addition to the Ministry of Tourism.
“We seek to make the funds of the Dominican Republic more efficient. We decided to create this committee to receive tour operators and ensure that the country has more charter flights, mainly for cruise areas such as Puerto Plata and Samaná”, Collado added.
The Dominican Republic participates in the Cruise Fair held in Miami.

“We are sure that this C Trade fair will be one more success for the Dominican Republic“, said Raphael White, president of the association.
Collado explained that cruise tourism is a priority for the country and revealed that part of the promotion strategies are oriented in this direction.
“The last sector of tourism that was reactivated was the cruise ship sector and that is why the importance of this fair,” he said.
And he added: “We have representatives from Central Romana with its marina, Puerto Plata with Amber Cove and Taíno Bay and also from Samaná at the fair.”
He also referred to tourist records last month.
“We come strong. We have projections that April 2022 will be the best month ever. After Easter, the tourists continue to arrive,” said Collado.
