The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) announced yesterday that various improvements have been implemented to the appointment system of the Mexican embassy in Cuba.
In recent weeks, Cuban media have reported a permanent lack of appointments in the consular section of the Mexican diplomatic delegation, which has led to complaints and protests from Cuban citizens who intend to carry out procedures to travel to Mexico.
The changes that came into force are aimed at expanding the availability of appointments, making their allocation transparent and eliminating intermediaries or managers, according to a statement.
16,000 appointments were made to carry out consular procedures before the Mexican embassy in Cuba in the period between May and December 2022. It is important to clarify that the date and time of these appointments will be assigned automatically until their availability is exhausted according to the order in which they are requested on the website.
according to the SRE.
It is reiterated that the Mexican embassy in Cuba offers appointments for consular services only through the citacuba.sre.gob.mx website. Appointments are free, personal and non-transferable; The system has multiple locks and security measures that prevent manipulation or transfer to people other than those whose data was originally recorded.
.
The SRE urged users to avoid sharing their personal data with third parties that offer to schedule appointments on their behalf, since such appointments could be canceled without prior notice.
