Faced with the emergency caused by the winter wave in the rural area of the municipality of Viotá, which has left three dead and two missing so far, several groups joined forces to continue with the relief work in response to said emergency.
Among the groups that have participated in the process are the Comprehensive Response Unit and four Search and Rescue (SAR) and Mountain Search and Rescue (M/SAR) volunteers. the Colombian Red Cross Sectional Cundinamarca and Bogotá (CRCSCB).
The avalanche, caused by the rising of the La Pilama ravine, occurred in the village of Liberia Baja at 2:00 a.m. on Friday, destroying the home of an indigenous family that had come to the village 15 years ago from Cauca. Two women, two men and a teenager were dragged away.

Relief agencies managed to locate the two women and one of the men during the day. But the minor and his grandfather are still missing, so this Saturday, volunteers from the CRCSCB and from Cundinamarca firefighters They searched again with no results.
Several landslides that have occurred in the area have complicated the recovery of the other bodies. There, five more houses were swept away during the early hours, leaving a total of 11 affected families who have already been evacuated.

This Saturday, the governor of Cundinamarca, Nicholas Garcia, reported that the number of people killed in the municipalities of Cachipay and Viotá rose to seven, as a result of the heavy downpours that occurred on the night of Thursday, April 21.
He added that the departmental administration works to repair the damage that occurs in more than 90 affected secondary and tertiary roads and main road corridors.
