Covid-19: Brazil records 30.3 million cases and 662,600 deaths

The total number of people infected with the new coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic reached 30,345,654. In 24 hours, 6,957 new cases were confirmed by the health authorities.

The data are in the daily update of the Ministry of Health, released on Saturday night (23). The balance is produced from information provided by the state health departments.

There are, in all, 318,644 people with active cases of the disease being monitored by health professionals and 29,364,400 patients have already recovered.

States

On the list of states with the most deaths are São Paulo (68,000), Rio de Janeiro (73,207), Minas Gerais (61,216) and Paraná (43,075). The Federation units with the fewest deaths are Acre (1,998), Amapá (2,130), Roraima (2,147) and Tocantins (4,149).

In number of cases, São Paulo also leads (5,362,856), followed by Minas Gerais (3,352,682), Paraná (2,442,595) and Rio Grande do Sul (2,321,888).

Vaccination

According to the latest update from the Ministry of Health, 410.9 million doses of vaccines against covid-19 were applied in the country, with 174.4 million first doses, 153.7 million second doses and 4.8 million of single doses, plus 73.7 million booster doses and 3.1 million additional doses.
