The aim of the campaign is to socialize and cultivate the correct habits of consumption and responsible food donation in the capital.
In Ecuador, every citizen wastes on average 72 kilos of food per year and in Quito about 36,500 tons of food per year; that is, 100 tons per day. This means that 41% of households cannot get food. With the total food that is wasted in a year, it could feed about 56,153 people.
These data made Isabella de los Reyes and Ana Camila Riofrío, students of the Organizational Communication and Public Relations career at the San Francisco de Quito University, create the campaign ‘Food for Everyone‘, in order to socialize and cultivate the correct habits of consumption and responsible food donation in the capital.
