The Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic requested a report from IPS on the contracting process for the cleaning and sanitizing service. The company awarded with the millionaire tender belongs to Alberto “Pulpo” Palumbo, a friend of Vice President Hugo Velázquez.
Within the framework of its powers of control, surveillance and supervision of public assets and State assets, the Comptroller’s Office sent a note to the Social Security Institute (IPS) this Friday, to request documents and reports related to the questioned contracting process.
This is the process of “Contracting cleaning and sanitizing services for the different IPS dependencies”.
The pension has 10 days to answer the request. All this occurs after an investigation initiated by the newspaper La Nación of the Grupo Nación Media.
It is a situation that goes beyond the limits of all logic, since the IPS is in the middle of the evaluation stage to hire cleaning services again when the super-supplier Alberto “Pulpo” Palumbo still has one year left to complete the term of his current multi-year award. for a value of G. 42,000 million valid until April 30, 2023.
IPS anticipates a maximum of G. 109,382,873,664 that will be distributed in 10 lots, according to the specifications of the new call with ID 404,218 and for which the report is requested by the Comptroller.
This new tender is a photocopy of the one awarded last year to Alberto “Pulpo” Palumbo, through his company Poti SA and the firm with the same name.
