Seven parties requested the National Election Jury (JNE) reopen the Declara Internas system to correct errors and register their candidacies for the internal elections, ahead of the 2022 Regional and Municipal Elections.
The request was made through a public statement signed by the general secretaries of the groups Alliance for Progress (APP), Popular Renewal, Purple Party, Free Peru, Popular Action, Podemos Peru and Popular Force.
It indicated that the system was enabled Declares Internal on April 1 and political organizations – without distinction – were given a period of 8 days to submit all their lists of candidates.
He also stated that for the JNE a regional movement with 300 members in a small department is equal to a political party with more than 200,000 members and with a presence throughout the national territory.
“Furthermore, despite the limited term that the parties were granted for the use of the new computer system, the additional loading of affiliate lists was allowed on the fifth day of the term, materially reducing their use -because almost all the lists had to be redone. – only 4 effective days”they indicated.
In the same way, he stated that the consequences of the treatment and the decisions made by the JNE “they are harmful” to the partisan life of the political organizations in the country, since “Thousands of affiliates have been left unable to participate, limiting their legitimate political aspirations and depriving their people of potential authorities born of the popular will”.
For this reason, they ask the JNE to help supervise the internal elections of the parties and provide effective support to those administered, alleging that both said entity and the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) They were created to provide public services to their users, such as political organizations.
“Likewise, we request the immediate reopening of the Declara Internas computer system for a minimum period of 24 hours, in order to correct the affectation of the rights of political participation of our affiliates”they sentenced.
A total of 13 thousand 388 lists of candidates, comprising 135 thousand 276 applicants, were registered in the system Declares JNE Internal to participate in the internal elections with a view to the Elections 2022.
As reported by the Declara Internas system, the political parties that submitted lists of candidates are Acción Popular (556), Alianza para el Progreso (1,180), Avanza País (590), Democrata Verde (98), Fe en el Perú ( 162) and Frepap (339).
