The World Bank holds a dialogue with Mexico to offer help

The agency’s representative was questioned about possible support for the Mexico City government, especially for families in an environment of high inflation.

The World Bank said they will support those who need it most.

Malpass acknowledged the speech by the Secretary of the Treasury, Rogelio Ramírez de la O, who stressed that despite the fiscal discipline that the country maintained in the pandemic, it faces the same inflationary problems as other global nations.

“I think there may be efforts to support people in Mexico, and we are interested in working with government entities,” the World Bank head commented.

The work of the World Bank is to offer financial products and technical assistance so that the countries can face the challenges. The organization has financed more than 12,000 development projects through traditional loans, interest-free credits and donations.
