The militants of the Frente Libertad Avanza began to be located inside the Luna Park stadium, where the campaign bunker of the space led by the candidate for national deputy was installed Javier Milei.
From 6:40 p.m., militants from the Front and the general public began to enter the stadium through gate number 8, located on Madero street, while the line of spectators that gathered at the gate reaches the corner of Corrientes Avenue, made up mainly of young people.
On the occasion of the security operation deployed around the stadium, Lavalle Street will remain closed throughout the day with fences, where supporters of the candidate placed some Argentine flags and other yellow ones with the name of Javier Milei.
The flags are also sold at the stadium gate and have inscriptions such as “Don’t tread on me” or “Viva la Libertad dajo” on drawings of a black snake or the candidate’s back.
Even Confederate flags were seen, that is, the insignia that usually identifies American white supremasists.
Although it was expected that the Front’s referents would start arriving at the bunker from 8:00 p.m. the formula leader, Javier Milei, was present at the stadium before 7:30 p.m. and, it is estimated, will go on stage with Victoria Villaruel closer to the announcement of the first results, scheduled for 21.
Outside the stadium, a murga awaited the arrival of the candidates at the corner of Lavalle and Madero. All its members of the murga wear a T-shirt with the inscription “Milei 2021”.
The expectation of the space led by the economist is to assert itself in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA) after the performance it made in the primaries and that allowed it to position itself as the third electoral alternative after Juntos por el Cambio (JxC) and the Frente of All (FdT).
In the PASO, Milei reached 13.66% of the votes of CABA, and at the end of her campaign, she assured that her objective is “to liberate the people and sweep the ballot boxes.”
In this sense, the liberal lawyer Carlos Maslatón, assured in dialogue with Télam that the results obtained by Milei, of 17.06%, “are the bases for a huge growth and to win the presidency with good political organization.”
“If Javier Milei decides to play with his own structure, he can win the presidency in 2023”Maslatón stressed.
At the same time, he considered that the liberal economist “stopped the totalitarian advance of the State and the totalitarian advance of the parties” and that thanks to his candidacy “the average ideology of the Argentine population is being reversed.”
Along the same lines, he added that “today the possibility that Argentina will once again have a market economy and return to growth is definitively enshrined at the polls.”
On the other hand, Télam spoke with merchants and sympathizers of the Libertad Avanza front, such as a pin seller, Jorge Flores, who defined himself as an “anarcho individualist” and said that “he was enthusiastic about Milei’s ideas at the beginning of the pandemic “, while showing his books on classical liberalism and neoliberalism that he got in” the only libertarian publishing house in Argentina “, Unión Editorial.
In turn, Eliana Herrera, a member of the Libertarian Party of Lanús, explained that she began to frequent the space after the 2019 presidential elections because “she wanted to contribute her grain of sand.”
Among those present inside Luna Park are Luis Padrón and Marcela Iglesias Hollywood, “The Elf” and “La Barbie Humana” respectively who, as they explained to Télam, came from Los Angeles to “support” Milei’s vote.
By 20:30 the stadium has reached its maximum capacity (5,400 people) and the spectators await with great fanfare the words of the candidates.
