“This situation is manifested in severe human rights violations that to date have resulted in: 355 unpunished lethal victims, more than 2,000 injured protesters, at least 1,614 arbitrary detentions, the exile of more than 110,000 Nicaraguans, the increasing criminalization of the exercise journalism, the closure of more than 114 civil society organizations, the resurgence of attacks against indigenous peoples and Afro-descendants of the Caribbean Coast, and the permanence of more than 170 political prisoners in conditions that violate the Minimum Rules of the Nations United States for the Treatment of Prisoners”, emphasizes Race and Equality.
