The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) reported this Tuesday that it approved the 2022 Annual Promotions Program (PAP), which will allow the use of resources from the Energy Social Investment Fund (FISE) in programs aimed at expanding universal access to energy supply and rural energization.
He indicated that Ministerial Resolution No. 154-2022-MINEM/DM, published in the newspaper El Peruano, establishes that programs for the mass use of natural gas in all concessions at the national level, projects for the expansion of energy frontier, compensation to electricity distribution companies for the application of the Residential Electricity Rate Compensation Mechanism, among others, with financing that exceeds S/ 1,131 million.

“It has been established to expand the program to promote new supplies of Natural Gas (Bonogas) in the Concessions of Lima and Callao and Ica; the North Concession (Áncash, Cajamarca, La Libertad and Lambayeque) and the South West Concession (Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna), with an amount that exceeds S/ 577 million in favor of 279,206 beneficiaries, among which are households, small businesses and social institutions”, the ministry said in a press release.
In addition, he pointed out that a budget of more than S / 35 million has been included for the Piura region in order to expand the coverage of the natural gas service in the La Tortuga populated center, the La Brea-Negritos district and the El Alto district. .
Likewise, S/ 150 million are destined for the expansion of beneficiaries of the special infrastructure project for the massification of natural gas in the interior regions of the country, which includes in a first stage the regions of Ayacucho, Cusco and Ucayali; and then, in the second part, to the regions of Apurímac, Huancavelica, Junín and Puno.
Promotion of CNG vehicles
The ministerial resolution endorsed by the Minister of Energy and Mines, Carlos Palacios Pérez, also detailed that for the program to promote NGV vehicles at the national level – GNV Savings, more than S/ 69 million is allocated in 2022 to benefit 24,771 new vehicle owners from the regions of Lima, Callao, Ica, Lambayeque, Piura, Áncash, La Libertad, Junín, Cajamarca and Cusco.
Finally, the project to install home electrical connections for vulnerable homes is also included, so that FISE resources finance 100% of the installation in 23,000 low-income households that are not yet connected to the public electricity service. despite having electricity distribution networks nearby.
