The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) condemned this Tuesday the permanent acts of vandalism against the consular headquarters of Venezuela in the city of Bogotá, Colombia.
This was announced by the executive secretary of the Alliance, Sacha Llorenti, through the social network twitter.
“The member states of the @ALBATCP They express their profound condemnation of the acts of permanent vandalism and fire at the Consular headquarters of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela located in the city of Bogotá, Colombia, the latter occurring on April 18, 2022,” he published.
Through a statement, ALBA-TCP expressed its deep concern about the violation of international treaties such as the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic and Consular Relations, which regulate the obligations of receiving States in this area.
The Alliance supported the measures that the National Executive decides to undertake to guarantee the protection and immunity of its diplomatic and consular offices, and also called for compliance with international law and the agreements that regulate relations between countries.
On Monday, the national government denounced the acts of permanent vandalism against the consular headquarters in Bogotá, Colombia, in addition to a fire registered during the early hours of Monday in the aforementioned facilities.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the lack of shelter and protection of the property by the Colombian authorities violates the provisions of the Vienna Convention, to which both countries are parties.
