Havana Cuba. – Since 2009, Cuban Yaumara Ramos Concepción has been waiting for the authorities of the municipality of Guanabacoawhere he resides, to complete the work that has been started and put an end to the sewage problems that affect his home and other surrounding areas.
“We, several neighbors, have gone to the Party [Municipal de Guanabacoa]to the People’s Power [municipal] already what it is [la Dirección Municipal de] Health due to the problem of sewage because in several houses, including mine, excrement comes out of the kitchen, the bathroom and the patio, “explained Ramos Concepción before the cameras of CubaNet.
This situation, explains the woman, is further aggravated in the rainy season.
“We have gone through the channels, but they have not given us a solution to the problem,” he also lamented.
In 2009, after the neighbors came with their incessant complaints to the provincial authorities of the PCC and Aguas de La Habana, a project for the construction of the sewerage network in the area was finally approved. However, the works remained unfinished due to lack of pipes.
“The installations were made from the corridor to the street because it was ordered by Aguas de La Habana, but the project was stopped because here, in Guanabacoa, they told us that there were no pipes,” lamented the interviewee, who adds that the cost of the pipes used from inside the hallway to the street was paid for by neighbors.
In February 2020, given the ineffectiveness of the authorities to finish the work, Ramos Concepción submitted his complaint to the Population Assistance offices of the Council of State.
However, to date he has not received any response, he says.
