Ricardo Ehrlich and Álvaro García will maintain activities in San José

The presidents of the Broad Front Program Commission, Ricardo Ehrlich and Álvaro García Rodríguez, will visit the department of San José on Tuesday 19, to attend a series of commitments made by the political community. It should be remembered that Erhlich was the mayor of Montevideo, and also the responsible coordinator of the party, months before the elections for the authorities were held. Meanwhile, García held various positions, including that of president of the National Development Corporation, led the Office of Planning and Budget (OPP) and was also Minister of Economy, in the first presidency of Dr. Tabaré Vázquez.

In the morning hours of the next day, both will visit two radio stations, in order to grant interviews and talk with the hosts about the reality of the Broad Front, and the reasons for the visit to the department. Around 6:00 p.m., they will hold a press conference at the central venue located at 639 Espínola Street, while starting at 7:00 p.m., a meeting of the departmental political table (extended) will take place. From the political table in Montevideo no details of the issues that will be addressed in this meeting were provided, nor did the delegates of the political force in the department of Maragato make any mention.

Memory

The Broad Front account, and some leaders of the political force, recalled this Sunday the 17th on social networks the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the murder of the so-called martyrs of Sectional 20 of the Communist Party of Uruguay (PCU). The event occurred more than a year and months before the coup in Uruguay.

The main account of the Broad Front published the following message that alluded to April 17, 1972: “Elman Fernández, José R. Abreu, Luis Alberto Mendiola, Raúl Gancio, Ruben López, Ricardo González, Justo Sena and Héctor Cervelli, present ”. One of the leaders who wrote a message about the date was Mario Bergara, who yesterday on his Twitter account wrote the phrase: “Honor and glory! Never more state terrorism!
