The Assembly’s Security Committee called on government authorities to hold a reserved meeting on November 17.
Through a statement disseminated on social networks, the president of the Security Commission of the National Assembly, Ramiro Narváez, called a reserved session to the heads of the ministries of: Defense, Government, Presidency of the Technical Organism of the National Social Rehabilitation System, General Command of the Police, SNAI, Strategic Intelligence Center and Ombudsman.
This with regard to the clashes that occurred on the night of November 12 and early in the morning of November 13 in the ‘Litoral Penitentiary‘and what did they leave 68 inmates killed and 25 wounded.

The assemblyman stated that the meeting with reserved character is held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in order to «articulate forceful actions to stop the prison massacres that have spooked the country in the last year in view of the fact that the competent authorities of the Penitentiary System are in the territory (…) ”, reads the letter.
In addition, it is recommended to government to evaluate the relevance of applying security measures such as the evacuation of the pavilions at risk of the ‘Litoral Penitentiary‘, “Transferring persons deprived of liberty (PPL) to suitable transitory places under the control of the Ecuadorian State until order is restored (…)”.
So far (16:30), the president Guillermo Lasso he has not issued statements in relation to the meeting he holds with the Security Committee, in the ECU911 of Guayaquil, on the subject. (MFU)
