The National Emergency System (Sinae) released this Sunday the latest daily report with the figures linked to covid-19 after the cessation of the health emergency ordered by the government at the beginning of April.
Starting this Sunday, the report on the health situation will become weekly.
According to the report of this April 17, they detected 183 new cases in 2,072 tests, with a positivity rate of 8.8%.
Also, in the last 24 hours four people died with a positive diagnosis who were between 53 and 92 years old, which brings to 7,197 the number of deaths since the disease was detected in Uruguay.
There are currently 1,924 active cases and 18 are in critical care centers, according to data from the Ministry of Public Health (MSP). Of the total positive cases, 76 belong to health personnel.
Of the 183 new cases, 100 are from Montevideo, 22 from Canelones, 15 from Colonia, 11 from Maldonado, six from Lavalleja, five from Rocha, four from Cerro Largo, four from Flores, four from Paysandú, four from San José, three from Rivera, two from Treinta y Tres, one from Artigas, one from Río Negro and one from Salto.
All departments register active cases of covid-19 until this Sunday. Montevideo leads the list with 1,056 infections and is followed by Canelones with 209. Behind them comes Maldonado (85), Cerro Largo (65) and Treinta y Tres (55).
