Cuba-Colombia in I Pan-American and Oceania Junior Judo Championship

Cuba debuts today against Colombia in the mixed team tournament of the I Pan American and Oceania Junior Judo Championships based in Lima, Peru.

The Cubans will open against the Colombians in Group C, while Brazil-Australia will collide in Group A.

The remaining first matches feature Mexico-Dominican Republic, in Group B, and in Group D Peru against the winner of the Chile-Argentina match.

With seven gold, five silver and three bronze medals, Brazil won the individual tournament ahead of Cuba (2-2-2), the United States (1-1-6), Canada (1-1-4), Venezuela (1-1-0), Australia (1-0-4) and Costa Rica (1-0-0), the seven nations that won at least one of the fourteen titles in dispute.

The Cuban champions were Iván Silva (90 kg) and Andy Granda (+100 kg), the runners-up, Danny Porte (60 kg) and Arnaes Odelín (57 kg), and the bronze owners, Magdiel Estrada (73 kg) and Yusmari Kings (63kg).

Julio Alderete (m) and Yordanis Arencibia (f) must choose the contestants 30 minutes before the start of the contest.

Close to the podium, Marlenis Gorguet (78 kg), Thalia Narino (+78) and Liester Cardona (100 kg), with fifth places, and Naomis Elizarde (+78 kg), and Melissa Hurtado (52 kg), with seventh places, finished for Cuba. places.
