On the occasion of Holy Week, on April 14 and 15, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (mincetur) led operations, in conjunction with the Superintendency of Land Transportation (Sutran) and transit and tourism officers of the National Police of Peru (PNP), to control tour guides and tourist transport who departed on excursions from the district of San Borja, in Metropolitan Lima.
In total, 32 vehicles were seized to check if they had the tourist transport authorization, and 18 guides, in order to verify if they were accredited to exercise the activity of tourist guide and were duly registered in the National Directory of Service Providers. Qualified Tourist Services.
The units were destined for different points in the department of Lima such as Lunahuaná, Canta, Chancay, Huarochirí, as well as Marcapomacocha in Junín and Paracas in Ica.

The actions were carried out within the framework of the inspection program for tourism service providers in Metropolitan Lima, in charge of Mincetur, to strengthen formal and responsible tourism.
The Vice Minister of Tourism, Isabel Álvarez, welcomed the control work and reminded tourists to review the information of tourism companies before hiring them.
“Tourism companies must be aligned with current regulations to offer an adequate service to local and foreign visitors. We encourage those who seek to travel to the different tourist destinations in our country, on the occasion of the long holiday, to carefully review the information from tour operators to enjoy a safe trip.”
