SANTO DOMINGO.- The provinces of San Pedro de Macorís and La Altagracia were the towns with the largest drug operations last week, according to the diagnosis of the Attorney General’s Office.
The National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) in a report says that 1,179,556 kilograms of different narcotic substances were incinerated, a large part of the drug seized by the National Drug Control Directorate, in the two provinces of the eastern region.
The forensic body in charge of burning drugs reported that this amount includes 1,100,499 kilograms of cocaine, equivalent to 93.30%, and 78,841 kilograms of marijuana, with 6.68%, as well as 213 grams of crack, for 0.02%, and 3 grams of ecstasy, which represents 0.0003%.
Members of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and the Public ministry They occupied narcotics in the aforementioned provinces and other parts of the country, within the framework of the strategies that they jointly implement against this scourge.
Representatives of the aforementioned institutions and other bodies in charge of combating this illegal activity participated in the act, held at the Dominican Republic Army compound, in the Pedro Brand municipality, West Santo Domingo.

The Attorney General’s Office highlighted in a press release that so far this year a total of 11,998,553 kilograms of drugs have been incinerated, most of it cocaine, with 9,472,310 kilograms.
