Last night (15), in Jardim Jaraguá, in the capital of São Paulo, the Military Police arrested a 30-year-old man accused of stabbing his ex-companion to death.
The crime took place at dawn of the same day, in the Remédios neighborhood, in Osasco, in Greater São Paulo. The information is from the Secretary of Public Security (SSP) of the State of São Paulo.
The accused was taken to the 5th Osasco Police Department, where he was booked in flagrante delicto for the crime, and placed at the disposal of justice. The police authority asked for the man’s preventive detention.
The arrest took place after the police received a complaint that the accused was in a halfway house, located in the west zone of São Paulo.
According to data from the SSP, in the first two months of 2022 alone, 14 cases of femicide were recorded in the state. In 2021, there were 117 cases.
