Activist Rosario Ibarra de Piedra dies at 95

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador was among the first to express his condolences. “Doña Rosario Ibarra de Piedra died, who will always remind us of the deepest love for children and solidarity with those who suffer from the disappearance of their loved ones. That was her true match even when she admired Giordano Bruno,” he wrote in his account from Twitter.

In the same social network, Senator Ifigenia Martínez lamented the death of the social fighter. “It is with sadness that I learn of the death of my dear friend and tireless activist and social fighter, Rosario Ibarra de Piedra, a pioneer in the defense of human rights, peace and democracy in Mexico. I warmly embrace her daughters, her family and friends. Rest in peace,” she noted.

The messages were joined by activists and politicians from various parties, such as Alejandro Moreno, from the PRI; Senator Ricardo Monreal, as well as the Secretary of Foreign Relations (SRE), Marcelo Ebrard, who expressed their sadness at the death of the social fighter.
