New clashes between inmates of the Guayas Center for the Deprivation of Liberty N.- 1, better known as’Litoral Penitentiary‘, occur from approximately 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021. At that time, neighbors of the prison warned about detonations inside the place.
Since then there is no official information about what happens inside that jail. However, through social networks and information from persons deprived of liberty (PPL) it was learned that inmates from several pavilions were trying to enter N.-2.
So far (07:00 on November 13) the number of deaths or injuries due to the new clashes.
Seven hours after the start of the events, around 00:00 today, the National Police announced the entry of elements of special groups of the entity to try to end the clashes and calm the situation inside the jail.
