Public institutions will work until 4:00 pm on Holy Wednesday

Instituciones públicas laborarán hasta las 4:00 p.m. del Miércoles Santo

Santo Domingo. – The Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) ordered that, due to the Holy Week holiday, government institutions will work until 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 or “Holy Wednesday”.

The circular indicates that the decision was made by the MAP in its role as the governing body of public employment and the quality of public services, in compliance with the provisions of article 51 of Law no. 41-08, of Civil Service, and article 27 of Regulation no. of Relations 523-09, of Labor Relations.

Likewise, based on the provisions of Resolution no. 0008, issued by the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (MISPAS), which eliminates some measures adopted from the COVID-19 Pandemic, dated February 16, 2022; and the provisions of MAP Resolution no. 074-2022, which establishes the reinstatement of all the personnel of the entities and bodies of the Public Administration.

In relation to services to citizens, the circular signed by the head of the MAP Darío Castillo Lugo, establishes that “the heads of public bodies, entities and companies are freed, who, due to the nature of their functions and services, they can establish special working hours and days, in order to guarantee the provision of services that they offer to the citizenry”.

The reinstatement of all Public Administration personnel is scheduled to take place at 8:00 am on Monday the 18th of the current month.
