After the National Electoral Institute (INE) defended that its two trusts –one to attend to labor liabilities and the other to comply with the real estate infrastructure program– are protected by law, in their autonomythe head of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, Pablo Gómez, insisted on the illegal nature of both, since said body is not a social security institution or a real estate fund, could not reserve resources for purposes unrelated to its function.

The confrontation between the INE and Pablo Gómez arose after the head of the FIU questioned on Wednesday on social networks the scarce installation of boxes that the institute deployed during the mandate revocation consultation, on April 10. He deplored that the reason was financial, when the INE withheld 1,360 million pesos in their illegal trusts.

In response, the electoral body responded in a statement that its funds they are not illegal and the resources available in said instruments cannot be used for a purpose other than the one for which they were created, because it is established in article 11 of the Federal Budget and Treasury Responsibility Law.

What the INE officially answers me about its two trusts is one of the many demonstrations of the illegal nature of bothPablo Gomez insisted. The Institute it is not a social security institution nor is it a real estate fund. You could not reserve resources for purposes unrelated to your roleHe replied through his Twitter account.

The electoral body tried to defend itself by declaring that the two aforementioned trusts cannot be used for a purpose other than the one for which they were created.

The trusts of the National Electoral Institute (INE) are protected by law, in their autonomy and its operation it is transparentthis body responded to the head of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), Pablo Gómez, who yesterday deplored the fact that the limited installation of boxes for the mandate revocation consultation has been due to issues financial, when the institute withheld one thousand 360 million pesos in their illegal money.

The INE reiterated that the resources available in said instruments cannot be used for a purpose other than the one for which they were created, since this is established in article 11 of the Federal Budget and Treasury Responsibility Law.

He explained that the Fund to Address Labor Liabilities, whose objective is the protection of the rights of the workersand the Fund for compliance with the Real Estate Infrastructure Program of the INE, which also includes the Fund for Citizen Attention and Improvement of Modules, they have totally different functioning; that is, destination or object, source of financing, committee, rules of operation and bank account, among others.

Together, the trusts have a balance of one thousand 353.09 million pesos, of which only 626.15 million are available, but they cannot be used for other purposes than those specified, insisted in a statement.

Trusts are not illegal. They are supported by the Political Constitution that determines that the INE will have the budgetary, technical, human and material resources that it requires for the exercise of its function.he asserted.

Last Wednesday, through social networks, Pablo Gómez questioned the lack of installation of boxes that the INE deployed on April 10 in the revocation of mandate consultation, and deplored that the reason was financial, when the institute retained one thousand 360 million pesos in its illegal trusts. In addition, he lamented the lack of availability of the INE in the organization: “The ‘electoral authority’ never made it known to the public, because it was against the procedure”, that the Constitution indicates the obligation to vote.
