1-1: They ask for the resignation of the Valencian Rescalvo in Emelec

After an acceptable presentation, the Sports Tachirafrom Venezuela, got a valuable point on the second day of the group stage of the Libertadores Cup drawing 1-1 against Emelecwhose fans ask for the departure of the Valencian coach Ismael Rescalvo after a string of unfavorable results.

With this tie, the Venezuelan team adds its first point in Group A of the Libertadores and is third, while Emelec is second with two units, four of the 6 points that Palmeiras holds in first place.

Yerson Chacón, in the 4th minute, put Táchira ahead, and attacker Joao Rojas declared the tie in the 11th minute.

Emelec failed to impose its game proposal, due to the good disposition of the Venezuelan game, directed by the Spanish Alex Pallarés, who closed the spaces through which the Ecuadorian team usually attacks, and took advantage of the spaces it found to launch the attack and create clear arrivals at the arc.

Deportivo Táchira surprised the locals through Chacón, who came only from the right flank, with a low and crossed shot that beat goalkeeper Pedro Ortiz when barely four minutes had been played.

In addition to the goal, Emelec suffered the loss of its Argentine striker Mauro Quiroga who, after a head-to-head clash with a Venezuelan defender, which forced him to leave the field directly to a health home to be treated, and in his position entered Bryan Carabalí.

Emelec reacted and equalized with a shot from striker Rojas, who shot across goalkeeper Cristopher Varela’s left winger, just six minutes after Táchira’s goal.

The game proposal of the Venezuelan team surprised Emelec, because they went out to play as equals and, when the local team gave them numerical superiority in attack, their rival responded with quick counterattacks.

Táchira made an effort to seek victory and enjoyed spaces that his attackers took advantage of with shots on goal, which goalkeeper Ortiz knew how to control with great saves.

Emelec managed to break away from the visitor’s domain and, after a well-directed center by Dixón Arroyo, Cabeza finished off with violence and the ball hit the right vertical, in one of the few attacks that the locals managed to put together in the second half.

While the Emelec players could not find a way to prevail over their rival, their Spanish coach Ismael Rescalvo did not have peace of mind either, due to the constant cries of the team’s fans asking for his departure, dissatisfied with the future of the Guayaquil team.

For the third matchday, Emelec will host Palmeiras, from Brazil, and Bolivian Independiente Petrolero will host Táchira.
