With this tie, the Venezuelan team adds its first point in Group A of the Libertadores and is third, while Emelec is second with two units, four of the 6 points that Palmeiras holds in first place.

While the Emelec players could not find a way to prevail over their rival, their Spanish coach Ismael Rescalvo did not have peace of mind either, due to the constant cries of the team’s fans asking for his departure, dissatisfied with the future of the Guayaquil team.
For the third matchday, Emelec will host Palmeiras, from Brazil, and Bolivian Independiente Petrolero will host Táchira.
