563 women deprived of liberty were vaccinated against COVID-19

Cecilia Orillac de Chiari Women’s Rehabilitation Center (Cefere) announced that a total of 563 women deprived of liberty were vaccinated against COVID-19, which represents 89% of the total population of the center.

Of that group, 230 received their first dose of AstraZeneca and 333 Pfizer; while 267 have already completed the complete vaccination cycle, 210 with AstreZeneca and 57 with Pfizer.

Johana Ortega, director of Cefere, pointed out that a third day was carried out through a sweep, since the Penitentiary System aims to achieve the inoculation of the total population.

“This has also been achieved due to the great publicity that the vaccinated prison population has given to the rest of their companions, who in the beginning did not want to apply the vaccine,” he stressed.

The Penitentiary System assured that they will continue with the vaccination in all the penitentiary centers of the country, to safeguard the health of the entire population deprived of liberty.
