The Secretary of the Interior of the administration of Rubén Costas, Vladimir Peña, and the current Governor, Luis Fernando Camachoexchanged accusations this Thursday for the ‘ghost advertising’ case, for which three leaders of the Democratic Party are being involved: Rubén Costas, Roly Aguilera and Manuel Saavedra.
Peña accused Camacho of breaking the alliance he had with Democrats and He recalled that during the subnational elections of 2021, the political group of Costas did not present a candidate for the Governor of Santa Cruz to leave the way clear to Camacho.
“As you know, Democrats did not present candidates to pave the way for Camacho (…) He always wanted to kill (politically) Rubén Costas and that is the underlying theme “commented.
In addition, he considered that andIt is an excess that the Prosecutor’s Office requests the preventive detention for six months of former Governor Rubén Costas, because he assured that in his case there is no danger of obstruction or flight. Likewise, he said that the process must be investigated in a transparent manner and without “outrage.”
“There is no reason to blame the MAS for this, because it was not the MAS that denounced. I only ask that it be investigated and that excesses not be committed, the evidence is there, you have to get it from the investigations. Costas is no longer governor, therefore he cannot obstruct, he cannot hinder and he has never fled in these 15 years that he has had other processes. So I consider that asking for his preventive detention is an inadmissible excess, ”he added.
For his part, Governor Luis Fernando Camacho stated that Peña tries to justify “an act of corruption” that was committed within the Democratic administration, for which he considered that it “has no morals or values.”
“Any justification does not correspond within the framework of values, it is like a person coming and wanting to justify a rapist. The rapist is a rapist and must be reported. If they want me not to report it, they are wrong, because it is my obligation as an authority. denounce corruption,” he said.
Also, the departmental authority said that will not remain silent due to the irregular facts that are discovered and he recalled that he denounced the Democrats’ management because sufficient elements were found, which were corroborated by the investigations of the Prosecutor’s Office.
“We have the obligation as an authority to denounce any act of corruption, now, if you want me to shut up in the face of this act of corruption, I will not do it because I am not a Democrat,” he emphasized.
