Congress receives 2023 Budget Guidelines Bill

Law that guides the preparation of the Budget for the following year, the LDO must be sent to Congress by April 15 of each year. As this year, the date falls on the Good Friday holiday, the deadline for submission has been brought forward to today.

Among the various points defined by the LDO are the initial estimate of the minimum wage for the next year, as well as the forecast of economic growth and inflation for the following year. The law has an annex in which it defines the priorities for the next Budget.

The LDO also stipulates the primary result target (primary surplus or deficit) of the Central Government – ​​National Treasury, Social Security and Central Bank – for the following year. The primary result represents the positive or negative balance in the government account without interest on the public debt.
