On the night of this Wednesday, April 13, the signal of Willax TV while the program “Beto a Saber” was broadcast, hosted by the journalist Beto Ortíz. Faced with this, journalists and politicians spoke about it through their social networks.
Willax TV’s television manager, Alberto Morenopointed out in dialogue with this medium that they have not yet detected the fault and the technicians are in charge of discovering what its origin was.
“We’re on it, they still haven’t detected the fault. I am in communication with the technicians, but the only thing left is to wait. We’re trying to get to the bottom, but still no news. I still don’t know when they will give me the right information”, he stated.

In addition, beto ortiz used his Twitter account to publish a video in which he described as “extremely strange” the moment the signal fell Willax TVsince he mentioned that during the broadcast of his program they were denouncing the abandonment of the people affected by the protests in different regions of the country.
“When we were denouncing the abandonment of the wounded from the protests and the relatives of the victims, they simply lifted us from the air. Whose? We do not know it yet, but it is very strange that we have disappeared from the open signal, from cable, from Direct TV, from Movistar, from the Internet, from YouTube. Too many coincidences at a time when we have been victims of a conviction for alleged defamation”, he indicated in his video.
“At a time when the President of the Republic (Pedro Castillo) sends notarized letters to the director of Panorama (Rosana Cueva) asking her to rectify information that is clearly true. This is extremely strange and as soon as I know what happened I will tell you”, he added.
For her part, the also journalist of said medium and host of the program “Políticas”, carla garciaasserted that freedom of the press could be threatened by the government.
“Willax’s screen goes black and the website does not load either during the Beto Ortíz program and in the midst of the complaints. I hope it’s not what it seems. Press freedom threatened in Peru by Castillo Terrones”, he wrote on Twitter.
For his part, Congressman Alexander Cavero (Avanza País), also spoke about it and in the same way described it as “very strange” signal drop.
“Willax goes off air. Very strange. Attentive in defense of freedom of expression”, he wrote through the same social network.
Former congressman Juan Sheput also gave his point of view on this issue and pointed out that the head of state and the government would be behind the interruption of the Ortíz program.
“The departure of Willax TV from the air should remind us of the letter that Pedro Castillo, as president-elect, sent to the MTC asking them to pick up their signal. She did it in retaliation for the complaints that were made in spaces such as Beto Ortíz with Claudia Toro”, he expressed on Twitter.
