The accumulated rise in fuels in the markets international is around 30.7% so far this year, so the government has decided to maintain the subsidy plan to hydrocarbons, allocating more than RD$ 820 million pesos and thus mitigate the negative impact that this generates in the national economy.
“With this subsidy, the government is avoiding dramatic increases in LPG for more than 11 pesos; Premium Gasoline at almost 30 pesos and Regular at almost 40 pesos per gallon; the Regular Gasoil in more than 72 pesos per gallon and the Optimal in more than 66″, assured in a press release the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs.
The Vice Minister of Domestic Trade, Ramon Perez Fermin explained that in the Dominican Republic the government is doing everything humanly possible to move forward with this complex scenario, and therefore announced that last week’s prices they maintain.
“We must respond sensibly, responsibly and with the principle of protecting the pockets of all Dominicans,” said Pérez Fermín. He also stated that the international price of WTI averaged 98.69 a barrel, practically the same as last week’s average.
