The ministers of Economy, Paulo Guedes, and Foreign Affairs, Carlos França, accompany the president, among other authorities. Tomorrow (13), the day is set aside for the delegation to rest in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.

According to Itamaraty, the Gulf countries are important not only for Brazilian commodity exports, but also for attracting investment in other areas. In this sense, the presidential visit goes beyond the economic agenda and intends to explore possibilities for cooperation in the areas of defense, science and technology, education, culture, tourism, legal cooperation and diplomacy.

On Sunday (14) and Monday (15), Bolsonaro participates in the Invest In Brazil forum in Dubai, promoted by Apex-Brasil, and visits the Embraer pavilion at Dubai Airshow, an event in the aerospace sector, and the Brazil pavilion at Expo 2020. He also has a schedule with the country’s authorities, when bilateral and cooperation agreements should be signed.

Brazil has goals to increase the presence of Brazilian companies and to attract more investments from sovereign funds in areas of interest, such as infrastructure. The United Arab Emirates also have a space program and are hiring scientists from other countries, a sector in which Brazil wants to cooperate.

Among the agreements that must be signed is a memorandum of understanding that creates a business council between the two countries, with the aim of boosting these relations.

On Tuesday (16), the presidential delegation will leave for Bahrain, where Bolsonaro will participate in the inauguration of the Brazilian embassy in the country’s capital, Manama. Bilateral meeting is also planned with the king of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa.

On the 17th, the trip schedule will continue in Qatar and, on Thursday (18th), the delegation will start returning to Brazil.
