This afternoon, the president peter castle carried out an activity in which he presented and published the law that grants up to 100% of the CTS to teachers, an event that was greeted by the FENATEPbut heavily criticized for SUTEP.
In this sense, the secretary of SUTEP, Lucio Castro, criticized the holding of this event, indicating that this has created more damage to teachers, because with the delay in the publication of the law, some of these workers will not be able to be reached by is.
“The event that Castillo has promoted makes us laugh, it is part of the show that he has wanted to put on with his pro-government union and the only thing that it has generated in objective terms is harm to more workers who, with the delay in the publication of this law, will not be able to be reached by the law,” Castro said in an interview for Peru21TV.
In addition, he assured that although this achievement is historic, it is due to the Congress of the Republic, with SUTEP as the main manager, since this union was the one that proposed to the previous Parliament, in the government of Francisco Sagasti.
The current Congress was the one that agreed to remove this rule promoted by SUTEP from the archive, now achieving that it be supported by the Education Commission, with the support of the current parliamentarians.
“That 76% that does not support Pedro Castillo, that awaits his resignation, is not a wrong percentage. He has wanted to put on a show, he has wanted populism”, added the secretary of SUTEP, about the event held to sign this law.
SUTEP considers joining the demands for Castillo’s resignation
On the other hand, Lucio Castro indicated that part of the SUTEP has proposed joining the demand for the resignation of President Pedro Castillo, an issue that has already been touched on in the meetings regarding the government’s behavior towards education.
“There are bases that are proposing actions of a national nature, others that are defining the issue of resignation immediately. Once the meeting is over, we will make the agreements public and we will adopt the corresponding behavior,” assured Castro.
“Definitely, what we are sure of is that this president has failed to fulfill all his commitments to education and has a Minister of Education who is seriously questioned,” he added.
Castro indicated that Minister Rosendo Serna has not yet clarified the situation regarding an alleged plagiarism in his doctoral thesis, something that generated much criticism in the sector and for which the minister has not yet proven the falsehood of the accusations.
“If this is so, we do not have the most suitable person who can be a model or example for the Ministry of Education, and we also have to ask for his resignation. It is an issue that must be clarified much more to make a more objective decision, ”she sentenced.
