The regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo has intensified its persecution against critical voices in the framework of the fourth anniversary of the April civic protests in Nicaragua. Only on Holy Monday and Holy Tuesday there are 29 incidents related to human rights violations, confirmed the multidisciplinary group Blue and White Monitoring.
The platform indicates that, between Monday, April 11 and Tuesday, April 12, the regime’s operators have carried out seven harassments, six arrests, 11 break-ins, four threats Y a prosecution incident.
The events have been recorded in eight departments (Carazo, León, Masaya, Madriz, Managua, Matagalpa, Nueva Segovia, Rivas) and the Nicaraguan South Caribbean.

It details that the harassment is directed towards political organizations, people released from political prisons and relatives of victims of April -the first murdered during the 2018 repression-.
They also record the raids and arrests of four musicians, carried out on Tuesday 12; and the arbitrary arrest of a relative of a released person. The raids were also perpetrated against family members of April victims and opponents.
In addition, they report the threats and prosecution against members of political organizations, political prisoners and members of musical bands.
The increase in incidents coincides with the reinforcement of hate speech by spokeswoman Rosario Murillo against opponents, the independent press and the country’s Catholic Church. Murillo has sworn “neither forgive nor forget” about the events of April 2018 in Nicaragua, while she calls for the date to celebrate the results of the government plan that ended more than 300 livesmostly young, according to national and international humanitarian agencies.
