Covid-19 Balance: Minsal reports 2,742 new cases and a national positivity of 4.99%

The Ministry of Health made a new balance on the situation of Covid-19 in the country, where it reported 2,742 new cases, of which 1,664 correspond to symptomatic people and 348 did not present symptoms. In addition, 730 positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.

In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 3,518,800 and recovered patients reached 3,452,063 since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.

On the other hand, the death of four people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 57,098 since the start of the pandemic. On the other hand, positivity reached 4.99% nationwide.

As for active cases, these reached 11,363 people and PCR tests amounted to 53,572 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 36,244,665.

Meanwhile, there are 379 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 274 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 2,169 critical beds enabled and 348 critical beds available.

Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 5.41%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are O’Higgins, Ñuble, La Araucanía and Magallanes.
