María Alejandra Peñaloza, one of the travelers, told RCN Mundo that the “The traffic jam is monumental and there is no presence of any authority.”

He said that upon reaching the height of the so-called Devil’s Nose, there was a backflow that left them bottled up and unable to pass.

For its part, Invías replied that The traffic jam was caused by maintenance works in the Sumapaz Tunnel between kilometers 37 and 42 which are scheduled from Monday to Thursday from 7 pm to 6 am and for which the total closure of the section takes place.

Additionally, he indicated that mobility management will be given by enabling counterflow through theto Bogotá-Girardot road from km 36 in Melgar to km 42 in Boquerón.
