The execution of the arrest warrant against the former official took place in the State of Mexico.
“The same thing happened with two other men who were apprehended in Monterrey, and who are related to the crimes that are attributed to the aforementioned former official,” reported the San Luis Potosí Prosecutor’s Office.
“Mónica and her alleged accomplices will be transferred to the capital of Potosí to face the charges against them,” he explained.
Mónica Rangel came in third place in the election for the governorship of San Luis Potosí in 2021. She only obtained 11.46% of the votes.
In September 2021, the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF) ratified the victory of Ricardo ‘el Pollo’ Gallardo, of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM), in the election for the governorship of San Luis Potosi.
