The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed on Tuesday that in Venezuela “we have experienced 20 years of resistance after the infamous and criminal coup of 2002.”
During his participation in the International Summit against Fascism for “The Defense of Truth”, in the Miraflores Palace, in Caracas, the Head of State pointed out that with the April Revolution the possibility of building the State of social welfare and of the Bolivarian Revolution through the Missions and Great Missions of Chávez. «There they were born!».
“We have a strong and clear Socialism that was born from the awakening of the peoples,” he said.
The National President affirmed that from the depth of the Venezuelan social process the concept of a new participatory and protagonist democracy was born. “In the face of the exhaustion of the model of democracy, fixed point, oligarchic, elitesque,” he emphasized.
“Our original, historical and always project has been, is and will be participatory, leading democracy and direct democracy with the expression of Socialism in the ideological,” Maduro said.
The Dignitary recalled the events that occurred in Venezuela on April 11, 12 and 13, 2002, where he highlighted the role played by the owners of the large private television networks, the business sector and representatives of the church in the country, who supported openly the coup d’état against Commander Hugo Chávez.
