Drogba will be a candidate to preside over the Ivorian Football Federation

Six candidates officially presented their dossier to run for the presidency of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF), which will be decided on April 23, and among them is former soccer player Didier Droga, the current leadership of the FIF announced this Sunday.

The nomination period for the presidency of the Ivorian Football Federation is closed. Six candidates have been registered. They are Yatte Ellele Jean-Baptiste, Arnaud Aka, Laurent Kouakou, Idriss Diallo, Sory Diabaté and Didier Droga,” said Mariam Dao Gabala, President of the FIF Standards Committee during a press conference.

Didier Drogba went to present his candidacy during Sunday, at the FIF headquarters.

Despite his status as a former soccer star not necessarily favorite due to the lack of sufficient support within the Ivorian clubs.
