In collaboration with 400 participants, whose goal is iimpact 12,000 people, the Ministry of women will hold during the 13th and 14th of November the Door to Door Day Living without Violence IS POSSIBLE, as part of the actions of awareness, education and promotion of the services offered by the institution.
Addys Then Marte, technical vice minister of Planning and Development, said that the conference is part of the actions carried out by the institution within the framework of its Strategic Plan for a Life Free of Violence for Women, in which the actions of prevention, care, reparation and punishment for women victims of violence.
Likewise, he informed the day will be headed by the Minister of Women, Mayra Jiménez and the governor of the province Rosa Santos, as well as government authorities, representatives of civil society and neighborhood associations, who will be visiting the sectors of the neighborhoods of the municipalities of Santiago, Santiago Norte, San José de las Matas, Tamboril and Navarrete and will be starting from the Duarte park in front of the Government.

The Door to Door aims to promote the services offered by the Ministry of Women to prevent and attend to gender and intra-family violence, as well as to raise awareness and provide guidance on the need for a culture of peace that allows the harmonious coexistence of the Dominican society. The Ministry understands that it is necessary to bring services to the greatest number of homes, with their door-to-door contacts.
The Ministry of Women has the services of the Emergency Line * 212 24 hours a day, Shelter Homes, Legal Assistance, Psychological Therapy, and Awareness and Training Actions, to promote equality between women and men.
The Door-to-Door conference “Living without violence IS POSSIBLE” began on November 1 in the four provinces of the Northwest Region (Valverde, Montecristi, Dajabón and Santiago Rodríguez), continuing in the first week of November in the provinces of Monsignor Nouel, Espaillat, La Vega, María Trinidad Sánchez and Puerto Plata, in its second week the institution was touring the provinces of Hermanas Mirabal, Duarte, Sánchez Ramírez, Samaná, Higüey, San Pedro and La Romana.
