Sarah Santana, with more than 15 years of work, also votes in favor of the resolution of the Ministry of Laborbut he is afraid that if he applies, he will lose many jobs.
“It’s hard for a lot of homeowners to afford that. There are people who look for one because they have the need and pay what they can, but if a person assumes what the law says, then they will be left alone, because they will not have how to pay. It suits us, but many people are going to be left without work,” says Santana.
Victoria García, president of the Association of Domestic Workers (ATH), applauds the Ministry’s resolution, but is annoyed that it must go to public hearings. She understands that “this is a right… What she orders is the entry into force of the agreement (189 of the International Labor Organization) to which the country has already committed itself.”
