Santo Domingo .- The director of the Cruz Jiminián Clinic, Dr. Félix Antonio Cruz Jiminián, described as effective and efficient the measure taken by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, to allocate a fund of 2,000 million pesos to lend it under special conditions small to the private health sector, in order to promote their development and increase their capacities.
Cruz Jiminián argued that beyond the benefits that this initiative may have for one or another sector; the main good will be in favor of the health of the Dominican population, for which he warmly congratulated the Government and its managers.
He clarified that this program is not a gift; but a loan like the service that any other bank would offer for these purposes; but with a more attractive interest rate for medical centers.
These loans will be made through the Bank for Development and Exports (Bandex), whose purpose is to finance the construction, expansion and technological modernization of clinics and private health centers.
While the financing conditions aimed at the health sector include interest rates from 6.5% in pesos and from 5.5% in dollars, with terms of up to 20 years and special grace periods.
In another order, Cruz Jiminián thanked the president for his words when he recognized that the private health sector was, together with the public system, the pillar in the most difficult moments of the Covid-19 pandemic.
