The confrontation takes place a day after members of Flamengo’s organized supporters go to the George Helal Training Center (Ninho do Urubu) to charge the players in relation to the drop in performance and vice-championship in the Carioca Championship. Rubro-Negro lost the title dispute to Fluminense, last Sunday (3).
The most charged athletes were Diego Alves, Diego, Arão, Thiago Maia, in addition to football vice president Marcos Braz, who canceled the meeting between the fans and the red-black cast scheduled for last Thursday (7th).
In midweek, the team from Rio de Janeiro led by Portuguese coach Paulo Sousa debuted in Libertadores with a 2-0 victory over Sporting Cristal (Peru), playing away from home.

The Dragon lives a completely different moment from tonight’s opponent. Last Saturday (2), Atlético celebrated the title of the Campeonato Goiano, after victories against rival Goiás, in the first and second rounds of the final.
Last Tuesday (4), the team from Goiás thrashed LDU (Ecuador) at home, 4-0, in their debut in the Copa Sudamericana, the second most important tournament on the continent, behind Libertadores.
Tonight’s duel at Antônio Accioly will be the second in the history of clubs from Rio de Janeiro and Goiás at the stadium. The first and only happened last year, when Dragão got the better, with a 2-0 victory. The goals of the confrontation were scored by Lucão and Toró, for the last round of the Brazilian.
