This Friday marks the fifth day of work stoppage for laboratory technical assistants, since they have not reached agreements with the health authorities, who owe them the payment of the salary increase.
The request for laboratory assistants is based on Resolution 523 of July 9, 2021, which indicates that technicians who pass the professional proficiency exam will receive an adjustment in their salary, which would remain at $925; shift emoluments of $80 and a year-end bonus in the amount of $400.
Luis Bonilla, president of the National Association of Clinical Laboratory Assistants (Analac), said that throughout these five days, some colleagues have received threats of coercing them. “It is important to denounce this, because this strike measure that we have carried out, we have done it with the formality that is required and they (the authorities) still insist that it is illegal. We can no longer continue with this,” he added.
