Holy Week: 55% of Peruvians prefer national destinations

The Holy Week holidays are approaching and thousands of Peruvians take this opportunity to travel and visit new places, both in Peru and in the world. According to Rappi Travel, about 55% of the trips made by Peruvians during this long holiday are destined for the interior of the country, highlighting Cusco and Piura.

The ranking of the most searched destinations in Rappi Travel by Peruvians in the last month were Bogotá, Cusco, Miami, New York, Santiago de Chile, Piura, Arequipa, Cartagena and Punta Cana.

“Something we have found is that Peruvians do not tend to plan their vacations long in advance and they join the tendency to make short and frequent trips.”says Guido Becker, Global Head of Rappi Travel.

How do Peruvians buy their trips?

The executive indicated that the sale of air tickets is what predominates in the sale of travel through online platforms, specifying that 90% of the sale is concentrated in the air product, while 10% corresponds to the sale of reservations. of hotels.

Another of the behaviors that most characterizes the Peruvian traveler is that they have an average purchase anticipation of 30 days when talking about international destinations; and an anticipation of between 15 to 20 days if they are national destinations.

Finally, the average ticket that Rappi Travel users spend on trips is about US$225. An amount that has grown more than 35% compared to the previous year.
